IDEAS AND CONTAMINATION BETWEEN ART AND DESIGN

Why art is a powerful transformative tool, and Andrea Sampaolo, as both interpreter and mediator of the artistic act, positions himself in service of the end user. He ensures that art becomes an instrument applicable to daily life, manifesting the artist’s expression even in everyday objects. These items, despite their simplicity, successfully convey the creative emotion of the artist, enabling the end user to experience and express it in turn.

01
THE ORDERED DISORDER OF COLOUR

The origin of my artistic research, driven by passion, curiosity, and the mystical energy of color, leads me toward the figure of the artist-researcher. Through the contemporaneity of multimedia tools, I manually synthesize dreams, giving them a tangible dimension.

02
mistery

Abstract art is the last true contemporary revolution, one that has captivated me for its spontaneity and simplicity. It translates into an instinctive and anarchic approach to the canvas.

03
entropy

Entropy measures the degree of disorder within a system, and in this case, the system is imagination—a domain so vast it can be compared to the infinite structure of the solar system.

04
order and disorder

Being constantly connected to this order within disorder adds unique value to abstract painting: an unassailable law of reality, the spontaneity of the gesture.

SCREAM.Urban Vibrations

With the exhibition URLO. Urban Vibrations, Andrea Sampaolo traverses the urban space of Rome and makes it resonate. The project represents the culmination of a blend of artistic languages that have always defined the creative journey of the Roman artist: street art, urban art, writing, graffiti, muralism, and the culture of Hip Hop—codes rooted in the underground galaxy. In URLO, these elements serve a more nuanced exploration of the relationship between the individual and the world. This rich and complex language, which has its origins in the Brooklyn of the 1970s—'a place that roared back through grassroots cultural regeneration'—remains, for Sampaolo, a powerful means of addressing social, economic, and existential distress today.

DESIGN EMOTION - Triennale di Milano

Design Emotion" is a conceptual exhibition, an itinerant model aimed at raising awareness of the culture of design and sustainable innovation, presenting new models of products and services for the cities of the future. The event serves as a meeting point for diverse design and sustainability cultures—a physical and virtual space that attracts leading-edge ideas, products, and technologies geared toward the urban environments of tomorrow. At the heart of the exhibition is a wooden module that recreates a contemporary domestic setting, featuring flexible furnishings and natural materials. The show also includes an artistic installation on the theme of smart cities, curated by international artist Andrea Sampaolo in collaboration with architects Massimiliano Mandarini and Giuseppe Todisco. "Design Emotion" was part of the Expo Day events held in Milan to promote Expo 2015."
